Changes are happening!

JB's Salon and Day Spa has decided to expand their J'Amour Boutique.  Guess where the ideal location for that expansion would be?  That's right, the bay that currently houses Log Cabin Quilt Shop.  Jamie, the owner next door, came to me with her idea and, over the course of the last month, we struck a deal that was beneficial to all.

Since all this occurred during the time when we were heavily involved with shophop preparation, as well as during the shophop itself, there just wasn't time to look for a new location for the physical shop.  A quick decision had to be made and, for now, it's the right way to go.   We will set up a workroom in Papillion where we will run the internet side of the business, all Block of the Month programs and Bobbi will run her machine quilting business.  The rest of the merchandise will be transferred to Quilters Candy Shoppe in O'Neill, NE.  

We've got an aggressive timeline but one that will work, I think.  May 8th will be the last day of retail operation for Log Cabin Quilt Shop in our current location.  We will use the remainder of May to transition the merchandise to O'Neill and the workroom in Papillion.  Remodeling and renovation will start on the bay in early June.

There are lots of details to take care of in the next few days to prepare for this transfer.  I've made a list and checked it twice, but I'm sure it will grow as time goes on.  

So let's talk about how this affects things at Log Cabin Quilt Shop....

Store Punch Cards

 If you have full cards, we will honor them on your purchases until we close on May 8th.  If you have a punch card that is almost full, be sure to come in and fill it up.  We'll redeem it right then rather than make you wait until your next purchase. 

In the future, if you should be traveling to O'Neill, your punch cards, full or otherwise, can be used there as usual.

Gift Certificates

Please come in and use your gift certificates by May 8th.  If that's not possible, we will make arrangements for you to use them at Quilters Candy Shoppe in the future.

Block of the Month programs

I will be contacting all of you who come into the shop to pick up your kits each month.  We will make arrangements for delivery for the remainder of your kits.  

If you are on auto-ship, it's business as usual;  your May block will ship on May 10th.

By the way, we have two new Block of the Month programs for which we are taking enrollments.  I'll send out information on those programs in the next week or so.  In the meantime, you can stop by the shop to see the posters for the quilts - they are beautiful!

Log Cabin Quilt Shop Webstore

What's to become of the webstore?  There will be no changes to the webstore.  It will be business as usual, just like with our Block of the Month programs.  Orders will be filled throughout the month of May so don't feel you have to delay ordering.  

In fact, these changes will allow us to concentrate on the internet side of the business.  We think you will be pleased with what we have planned for the future.

Thank you for your friendship over the years

I want to thank you so much for your friendship and patronage over the years.  A quilt shop is only as good as the people who walk through the door, to visit as well as to shop.  Please don't feel like this is the 'end of the book', it's merely the beginning of another chapter.
